Hi! My name is Ashley… I love to go by Ash though. I’m not sure how you got here, but I am so happy you found your way onto this blog. I don’t know your story, what you experience day in and day out, but I’m so pumped to have a place in your life. It’s my prayer that as you read the words on these posts, you would get a little bit closer to freedom each time. That you would recognize your worth, your value, and all that you offer to your section of the world. My hope is that each word would remind you that you’re not alone on this crazy, unpredictable journey we get to call life. Whether you struggle with depression, body image, self-worth, relationships, and anything else that distorts our view of ourselves… this blog is here as a tool to remind you that you are immensely loved every day and in every way. Nothing you do (or don’t do) can change that unshakeable truth.
I am a 25-year old who was born and raised in Florida. I can honestly say that I married my very best friend, Austin, when I was just a 19-year-old little baby. We have grown so much together as a couple in the last 5 years of marriage. And, it has only gotten sweeter and more fun with each day that passes. Life has brought us to a small beach town in Southern California, with our handsome fur babe, Dax. I was never referred to as an athlete growing up, but through the years I have become incredibly passionate about endurance sports. I have competed in several triathlons, and just completed my first half ironman at the Superfrog 70.3 in Imperial Beach! 🙂 I am also a yoga sculpt teacher and certified NASM personal trainer. Not one of my days looks the same, and I love to train hard and watch how nutrition and self-care impacts my grind. I am excited to share some fun workouts, tips, and meals that get me through half ironman prep and other endurance races that fill my calendar.
On this blog you will see stories of a woman who has struggled largely with anxiety, depression, and body image more than I would like to admit. However, through a whole lot of process, you will see a story of that same woman who is walking more and more toward freedom, joy, and confidence. The echo of shame is starting to fade, as I start to let the truth of my Father’s voice drown it out. It’s a very imperfect journey, and you will see that, too. Despite that truth, my hope is that you would feel the release of your own personal chains as you follow along. You will also notice a large amount of fitness and health related posts, as fitness has brought so much passion and joy into my world along the way.
So, wherever you find yourself today, I am so glad you made it here. Whatever it is that you do, my prayer is that you feel connected and seen through this blogging community. I pray that you would read the words written and feel motivated to show up to your life and to those you love with a renewed sense of joy and passion as we pursue healthy, whole lives!
